The Cowgirls were out in the community last night assisting Wyoming’s Special Olympics. Each Cowgirl was assigned a different station where athletes could come and work on their basketball skills. Mina Geric and Chelan Landry worked with teams in five on five games, Ashley Sickles and Fatima Thiam had all of the three on three groups. The other Cowgirls worked on individual skills like dribbling, passing, and shooting. Junior Chaundra Sewell had this to say, “this was a great opportunity to get out into the community and make a difference. Our team truly enjoyed playing and getting to know these amazing athletes. We will definitely be involved in future competitions and continuing our new found friendships with these amazing people! We wish them the best of luck in their competitions today.” To learn more about Special Olympics in Wyoming or to get involved visit http://www.specialolympicswy.org/ .
