Mike Petrino enters his first season with the Cowgirl basketball program.
Petrino comes to Wyoming from Central Catholic High School in Portland, Ore. For the past five years, he served as the head varsity boys basketball coach. During that time, he amassed a 97-37 overall record. His teams won five straight Mount Hood Conference Championships, made three Oregon State Activities Association State Tournament Appearances and two third place finishes. For his efforts, Petrino was selected the Mount Hood Conference Coach of the Year three-times and the Oregon Athletic Coaches Association All-Star Coach in 2008 and 2011. Previous to that, he was the Junior Varsity and Assistant Varsity Coach from 2001-2006 at Central Catholic.
A native of Montana, he earned his degree in secondary education in 1999 from Montana State Billings. Petrino and his wife, Kelly, have a daughter Jamieson.
