Each year partipants in 16 cities around the country run in the Children’s Hospital Color Run. The run is a standard 5k with a fun little twist. At specific points during the race, runners are met with a flurry of paint being hurled their way! Runners are covered from head to two in a rainbow of colors which only add to the races fun and exciting atmosphere!
“Being able to have fun running and running for a good cause is about as good as it gets. Knowing that the money gained from all of the color runners is going to the Children’s Hospital makes me feel like I made a difference in a kid’s life and didn’t just run a 5k. The run was definitely a great experience, some thing that I will never forget and would definitely do it again. The race was probably the happiest run I’ve experienced in a long time. The color that was thrown at us got our minds off the run and more on having fun and creating a running work of art!! Although we were having fun, we never truly forgot the main reason why we were doing the run, the Children’s Hospital.” ~Kaylee Hoffman

Fundraising is a vital component for a number of organizations throughout the calendar year. The Legerski family had an opportunity to be participants in an effort to raise money for Brent’s Place. Cakes for Cancer, is a program created by Zane Beadles, Coach Legerski’s stepson, and Brent’s Place. Brent’s Place was created in 1997 by Linda and Donn Eley and has helped a number of families while their children are being treated for life threatening cancer. Throughout the years, several Wyoming families have benefited from Brent’s Place. Please enjoy a few pictures from the Legerski’s time with Brent’s Place!

When we are young most of us learn how to ride a bike. On Friday, it was Fatima Thiam’s turn to learn to ride. Trusting in her teammate Chelan Landry, Fatima peddled along and within a few minutes was cruising down the Laramie Boulevards! Congratulations to Fatima and Chelan for a most successful bike riding campaign. Check out a few highlights of Fatima’s Biking Adventures above!

Yesterday we lost an exceptional athlete and an impressive motivational speaker. The Cowgirls met Mr. Junior Seau at his restaurant this past year in San Diego. Junior was kind enough to sit down with the Cowgirls and give them a few pieces of advice about life in college and what it means to be a great teammate and a great PERSON. Today, we remember not only his athletic accomplishments but his ability to inspire athletes around the country. We truly appreciate his passionate words and taking the time he did to talk with us. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his famaily, RIP Junior Seau.
